Business Consultant
Damien’s activities have primarily been in energy and environmentally related projects. His most recent project was the transaction of a multinational joint venture to produce environmentally friendly packaging and palleting solutions.
He negotiated the joint venture documentation, arranged for financing and progressing the manufacturing operations. Production is now established in Europe and in Asia Pacific (Malaysia and China).
In the energy sector he has advised project sponsors on the development of power generation projects in Europe. He has advised on project critical structure and documentation issues, the preparation of economic and financial feasibility studies, capital project appraisals, drafting of commercial terms, agreements and licences.
Other appointments have included and advising on the commercial development of enhanced recovery technology for the energy exploration sector.
Bechtel Consulting
Within Bechtel Consulting Damien was responsible for delivering strategic and financial consultancy services to developing and new businesses in the energy sector, primarily in the countries of Eastern Europe and the CIS.
Specific assignments included: financial and commercial sections for an energy efficiency project in Ukraine, feasibility studies for a number of energy and manufacturing projects, investment reports for the EBRD and the financial and commercial study for a US$600 million power plant in Czech.
Prior to this he has worked in the Middle East as a business adviser in partnership with Lawyers and Accountants providing analysis and investment strategy on project related investments.
Previous positions were with Moscow Narodny Bank where, as a member of the Project Finance Team, he advised on projects in the energy, manufacturing and resource based sectors in Eastern Europe and Russia.
Damien has also worked as an Economist with Petrofina S.A. (now part of Total), and as a Chief Field Engineer with Partec Lavalin on major projects in Canada.
He holds a MBA from Cranfield University U.K., a Civil Engineering Degree and a post graduate Mechanical Qualification from University College Cork (Ireland). He also holds a Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
